- Exceptional female rap album. Great vocal performance. It is probably one of the first female hip-hop albums. Even after so many years, the music still sounds fresh and crisp.
And this week Angie Stone died- Rest in peace Angie! - The first female rap group, and strangely, one of the lyrics on this album mentions "Salt & Pepper"....very interesting--but in all seriousness, this is one downright FUNKY album in all respects.
The Sugar hill House band has never received the credit they rightfully deserved, and these 3 women were groundbreaking in their vocal delivery. referencing The Sequence (LP, Album, Promo) SH-250
more form the sugar hill gang that brought you grandmaster flash! this is the genesis of hip hop and IMO better than modern "hip hop"
