Surprised to see that nothing on this set has been posted since its release in 1988. That’s 36 years and not one review here. Well, here goes; I found this 5 LP set still sealed and paid $30 for it. It’s basically a hodge-podge of various and mostly unfamiliar tracks. The familiar songs are not the album cuts. They too are alternate studio or “live” versions from all over the place. The sound quality varies depending on venue and recording/mixing technology at the time. This is not a “go to” set if you want to hear Tull. These are novelty recordings for the serious collector. For the money I paid, I’m good with the product. For a real JT experience, get the audiophile versions of the studio albums. They sound incredible. In particular, “Stand Up” by Analog Productions 45rpm.referencing 20 Years Of Jethro Tull - The Definitive Collection (5×LP, Compilation, Box Set, ) T BOX 1
This really is a fantastic set. I'm new to Tull and have only enjoyed the the pure 70's albums so far and this seems to fill all the gaps between albums. The few later albums and live concerts I have heard have been a bit lacking. It seems to me that the 70's were golden but everything else is for fanatics not purists. That said the Ian Anderson Solo electropop album wasn't half bad and I will be playing it again.referencing 20 Years Of Jethro Tull - The Definitive Collection (5×LP, Compilation, Box Set, ) T BOX 1
My booklet (LP version) doesn't have any mention about "Fallen on Hard Times song". Anyone has this version. Do you think that I need to open a new release?referencing 20 Years Of Jethro Tull - The Definitive Collection (3×CD, Compilation, Box Set, ) 353 406
The photo of disk 2 is scary. Like, the disk is dead.referencing 20 Years Of Jethro Tull - The Definitive Collection (3×CD, Compilation, Box Set, ) V3K 41653
Really nice set with cool photo collection booklet. Slight wear on cover corners, but otherwise near perfect.
