Bonobo – Fragments

Nice job from VMP on this one. I have both this and the crystal clear version I got from the Bonobo site. And for some reason this one sounds clearer to me. Nice and punchy, super soundstage and dynamic sound. Sounds so good that I’ve been using it to test equipment.

People are only posting about the quality of the pressing. This is one of the best Bonobo albums to date, excellent music with a touch of deep house and lounge plus even a track that could have been made by Bicep (Sapien). Excellent album 4 stars.

Poor pressing, lots of distortion, nice to look at, avoid

Very pretty… but absolutely awful cutting… I couldn’t work out what was going on side B, thought my TT was knackered as the track “From You”, quite a slow track, was speeding up and down. When I looked at the stylus head it was moving about +/- 5mm as it was tracking around the disk. Serious change in pitch and speed as it was the last track on the album so near the centre. The mastering sounded great, but the pitch change isn’t ideal! 😳🤪😂 It will be going back, pretty red marbled or not!! Pretty gutted tbh! Recommendations on the best version to buy gratefully received!

A good album from Bonobo, my vinyl is flat and with little to no noise. Sound quality is ok, nothing more.

Record player used: Pro-ject Debut Pro with Mofi Ultratracker pick up.

Great pressing, such a clear sound even on a low setting. My go to album just stunning.

Notes about C/D not being translucent like A/B are false. Also this press is 140g.

Unfortunately cut too hot, lots of distortion on most songs. Looks beautiful though, and great music.

Just got into vinyl collecting - got this as my first entry. Sounds great, haven't noticed any noise or skips, but my copy has a slight warp to disc 1.
