- Edited one year agoThis sounds fantastic, I know it's not an original, I know it's a budget price re-issue (I also have Burning from the inside on the same budget series), but still sounds great. Great pressing of a great live album. The live version of Bela sends chills down my spine,in fact the whole album sounds wonderful, the recording quality is more like studio than live.
Flawless pressing for great live sessions. I didn't get the inner sleeve though...
Edited 2 years agoI love this record. The weird thing is that I don't really think of this album as a live album - altought it is. The on-stage live-ness fits the music so well - that the song sound as they should. I can honestly say that I prefer these live versions of "In the flat fields" and "Bela Lugosi's dead" from the studio recordings. Kick ass album - pick it up while crate diggin!

2 Stars only because of the super bad recording sound
The part of the record where you can hear the guy say "Press the eject, and give me the tape." always made me believe that some part of this at least, was a bootleg audience recording. Is that true? It sounds way to clean to be an audience bootleg.
No problems with my copy and has a nice inherent volume, you can Play Very Loud. Kinda wish the original 7" had been included (or changed the songs; Ziggy Stardust and Third Uncle. :) )
Keep these coming, ditto what’s been said except the raw nature of the recording is a time capsule to a critical time in rock- Great sound and pressing quality on this release. Clear vocals. Defined bass. Punchy drums. Nice soundstage. Could hardly tell these are live recordings. Flat, centered, plays dead quiet. A great reissue and hell of a deal for $22 (one of the cheaper RSD offerings). Definitely worth it.
I have two of these. The inlays are identical in every manner but one. The discs are printed identically where it is silver. Both have the same disc layout, text and design, however one disc has white text and design on a black background. I found two black disks in the other releases, but their disc design is different, so it is not one of those. What am I overlooking?
