Thrillington is an instrumental cover version of the 1971 album Ram, recorded that same year at Abbey Road Studios, under the pseudonym Percy Thrillington. Paul McCartney produced the album while Richard Hewson (who had previously worked on The BeatlesLet It Be) arranged and conducted. Thrillington was shelved following the formation of Wings (2) and finally appeared, after a teaser ad campaign in the press, in 1977.

I like this it's very quaint and very like 1930's posh. the label so makes this project perfect for it Regal-Zonophone, you almost want to ask the stockest what type of needles, soft, medium or loud, thorn or steel. I recall the EMI-Cassette version beinging one of their first Dolby "B" System encoded tapes,
oh golly gosh roll back the rug and let's dance. It's quirky and lovely, very very very expensive as a RZ UK original. McCartney's MPL now having made the side move from UMG's Hear Music back to Capitol, the Album now has it's first Capitol release with the silver on wine labels and in limited edition red vinyl at £20 so a big saving! Whatever way RZ or Capitol it's a nice little album sing-a-long Ram. a real thrill-ing ton!

Good quality pressing. A little bit of static right out of the package, but a cleaning should take care of that. Mine was pressed slightly off-center, but not enough to notice or cause any issues. Other than that, vinyl is good.

Artwork is replicated very nicely. Pictures and text are crisp and bold. Cardstock inner sleeve which matches the UK original was a nice touch.

Only complaint - it's pressed a little quiet. Not that it needs to be loud, but when I put on side A and "Too Many People" starts off, it begins with the sound of the band chatting as they're tuning up, and then the music quietly starts. When the drums kick in, I was expecting the sound to get louder, and it didn't. Had to turn this up a few more notches than a normal LP.

Despite, that, it sounds nice. Don't have an original LP or CD to compare, but everything sounds fine, frequency-wise, nothing is missing or too up front. And it's not compressed-sounding.

Musically, this is what "Ram" would sound like if you had a big band (for some songs) or wedding band (for others) play it. Interesting, but if you're a casual fan of Paul's, stick with the original. This was basically a fun project for Paul to do, nothing more. I wonder what success this would have (or wouldn't have) if it was released under Paul's name...

I’m just wondering if anyone is genuinly liking the music/orchestral renditions? The re-issue is well pressed and nearly complete silent.
