Show All 16 ReviewsThis is an absolutely phenomenal pressing. I’ve had it in my collection for years. Hit it with the degritter and now it will join sea change and UHQR Kind Of Blue as demonstration records. A tiny number of light pops spread across the 4 sides.

Can anyone tell me wether or not this is a good vinyl press?

Can anyone confirm if Galaxy Bounce has Freddie Mercury samples.

"Come With Us" is one of my top favorite albums from The Chemical Brothers. "Star Guitar" is one of the best songs from them. I also love "Come With Us", "Hoops", "Denmark" and "The Test". A+

Pretty good pressing, no real complaints except that the labels were off-centre. Freaked me out at first, but luckily the actual pressing is well-centred.

It must not have been easy for the Brothers to find a new range of sounds after the big beat demise back in the early 2000's.
Most of the acts that used this style (often symbolized with one or two LP's) simply disappeared (Cirrus, Propellerheads, The Wiseguys, Monkey Mafia, Lunatic Calm, Dirty Beatniks, Hardknox to name a few).
On the othe hand, most well-known bands such as The Crystal Method, Freestylers, Fatboy Slim and Junkie XL have maintained some recognition by adapting to newer trends and production methods which changed the way their music sounded.
The Prodigy is one remarkable exception, as they have kept the beats as hard as they were in the beginning.
As for the Chems, they are the group amongst all the others previously quoted that have been able to use creativity to the fullest. They also parted ways with the core roots of big beat but never lost their originality.
Now, concerning "Come With Us", it's definitely more than acceptable. "Dig Your Own Hole" was dark, "Surrender" began to bring more accessibility to the party and "Come With Us" definitely parted ways with darkness and intensity in favour of an upbeat atmosphere.
I never get tired of hearing the violins firing up the intro of "Come With Us", even if the rest of the track is not necessarily the most inspired tune crafted by the Brits.
"It Began In Afrika" is a nice tribal party starter that can be followed with Leftfield's "Afro Ride".
"Galaxy Bounce" features funky vibes and appeared in numerous commercial released, most notably the "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" movie soundtrack as well as the PES 2010 game OST.
"Star Guitar" has a dreamful atmosphere, and has one of the best video clips ever made thanks to the work of Michel Gondry.
"Hoops" got serious Beatles vibes thanks to the use of a sample from The Association's "Round Again".
"The State We're In" is the traditional peaceful break featuring Beth Orton.
"Denmark" has a first third of funky bassline, a second third of build-up and a third one with crazy trumpets.
Very few songs feature level crossing sirens. The Brothers did it in "Pioneer Skies".
At last, "The Test" is the closest big beat sound we've got in this release. The outro progressively drifting away is lovely.
One of my favorites from 2002 along with "Burnin' Sneakers" from Bomfunk MC's, "Community Service" from The Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold's "Bunkka" and Cirrus's "Counterfeit".

Fantastic pressing. Sounds is clean and dynamic with no surface noise. I've purchased all the 2017 pressings in black and four of the limited edition color and they all sound great. Hope to complete the collection!

Последний, нормальный, непопсовый альбом от химических братьев!
Дальше пошло только хуже.
Last, normal, not a pop album from The Chemical Brothers!
Then it went worse.

Bit dull in parts, starts off alright with "Come With Us", "It Began in Afrika" and "Denmark" are my highlights. It's all OK, but just OK, nothing to get excited about.
