The Tallest Man On Earth – The Wild Hunt

Slightly better than average audio and while my copy isn't perfectly flat, it still plays perfectly so I'm happy!

I picked up a copy of this a while ago and it sounds much worse than my standard black edition unfortunately. There's a lot of surface noise throughout (especially on the 7") and my copy has a scratch at the start of Kids Of The Run which causes a click in the right channel on each rotation for most of the song. It's a shame cause the vinyl itself looks amazing and really matches the album but it's still nice to have a physical copy of his Graceland cover and Where I Thought I Met The Angels.

Audio quality is superb BUT I have two copies of this pressing and both are pressed off-center, resulting in audible pitch wavering that's especially noticeable on A5, for example. It's a real shame because it's one of the few Dead Oceans pressings I have that isn't underwhelming or downright scuffed. Record label was very accommodating in sending me a replacement, but alas, no joy, it's basically unlistenable for me.

Audio quality it good, but the pressing didn't follow the best quality control. There a dip in the first track on side b that caused a bad skipping for the first 10-12 seconds. Edges are rough and not trimmed very well. Otherwise, a great pressing.

First rate. Love the resonance and depth - I use a Rega P6 with Dynavector 10x5. Can't go wrong with this pressing.

My copy (re1 variant) is pressed off centre slightly on side A but otherwise is silent and beautifully mastered. Surprisingly loud cut! I had to rush over and turn it down, I suppose with pared back production with no massive dynamics you can really crank it on the cutting lathe.

Kristian’s voice and the style of these songs suits the medium so well. Stoked to pick it up, one of my top ten records.

Great press for the price. There's a slight, slight distortion all the way through but that could just be my mediocre gear/setup. The disc is surprisingly heavy, must be 180g but it doesn't say it is.

Bought my copy brand new. The record is perfectly flat and without crackle. A faint surface noise (like tape background) is present but it is not disturbing. This pressing is the way to listen to this amazing record. Recommended.
