Very underrated release from the short lived "trip hop" scene. Not sure why this isn't more sought after. It's pure Luke Vibert/Wagon Christ trippy-ness, minus the silliness he would all-too-often experiment with in the following years.

Luke Vibert's first release under his own name, A POLISHED SOLID, for the famed Mo Wax label, are three cuts of abstract hip-hop. The title track brings in some sax, but those disappear under layers of EQ sweeps and a looped sample saying, "Oh, Christ." Meanwhile, "Radart" sort of meanders in a pleasing way, and "Frogs Belly" lets loose the jazz, with a tinge of Wagon Christ cheekiness. An auspicious start.
