Luke Vibert's salute to the origins of techno and house, CHICAGO, DETROIT, REDRUTH, starts off with a worthy piece of melodic breaks, "Comfycozy," which wouldn't have been out of place on a Wagon Christ album. "Brain Rave" and "Argument Fly" gets back to the acid that Vibert now associates with his own name. The acid finds its way into tracks throughout the album, as a matter of fact, making those in which it doesn't quite show up all the more unique. "Breakbeat Metal Music," for instance, with its vocoder explanation, is so simple with its exploration of the beat that it works beautifully, while "God" gets all blissed out, with appropriate samples. "Rotting Flesh Bags" is actually much more pleasant than its title suggests, and "Swet" works up exactly that while paying cheeky homage to The Jetsons. This is an album that goes places.
