Reviews
- Pressing quality is terrible. Side A multiple tracks are bad. Exactly the same experience as DrSmyslov is describing. Besides that the new record is very dirty with dust, it also has bad grooves with clicks and distortion.
I hope my comment helps others, don't buy this pressing! - Someone on pressing quality ? Quality of the music here, deserve a super quiet press, but I'm note so sure regarding last blue note/optimal...
- Another Blue Note/Optimal shoddy product. Riddled with noise and clicks across both sides after cleaning, including continous clicking across the length of 3 tracks (nothing visible). I have bought nearly 20 BN records pressed by Optimal in past two years with issues like this, or worse. Across the same time period I have bought every PJ Harvey reissue and demos album. Also Univeral, also Optimal - not a flaw on any of them. A T-test would suggest something strange is happening here.
Don't think anybody could suggest the problem lies with Cohearant/Kevin Gray, but the perfection achieved with the Tone Poets provides evidence if needed.
Would love to know what goes on at Optimal to achieve so many badly pressed records. Really tiresome. - Edited 2 years agoMy copy has distortion on the last track. I cant seem to get rid of it. This is after a good clean on a VPI typhoon. Other than that, I dont recall any issues other than a few clicks and pops throughout both sides. The "made in germany" sticker on the back of the cover leads me to believe this was pressed at Pallas.
