Never really had a good sounding copy of this album but I’m halfway through this one and I gotta say I like it. The “muffled top end” only really applies at low volume. This thing CRANKS. Powerful bass, and no ear piercing treble.. just power. BG knew what he was doing with this. If it doesn’t sound right try it on a half decent stereo TURNED UP. And I mean “half decent”, you don’t need much better than a mid level “dad stereo”.

I’ll be the complainer here, this disc sounds fantastic. Great cleanup from my OG US, great sound. Although the jacket texture is gone here. Very flimsy and cheap jacket and OIS, does not capture the magic that the original jackets had.

Bought brand new sealed from an independent seller for 38 CAD. My copy is quite a bit warped but well centered. Some slight noise and a very few "clicks" but nothing too bad. It sounds warm and bassy on most tracks. The bass is on the wooly side (not very tight) and can be a bit overwhelming on some systems. Not a bad pressing overall, but definitely not the best of my collection. 4.6 / 5

I have the same copy with a generic sleeve VG+. Mine reads Crosby “Still” & Nash.

Sounds incredible, honestly a really great pressing. Mine needed a clean but after that, barely any surface noise or crackle

The MOFI Sacd is lovely. So lovely i bought this thinking this One Step would give the outstanding AP 75th a close run. It just doesnt sadly. A flat, harmonicly deficient, skeleton of a sound. Easily the worst One Step ive had and sold within 2 days of owning it. Did i get a lemon or something? I dunno... the pressings themselves were whisper quiet.
Hey ho.... FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS EH!!!

I did an A/B with the Mofi One Step and expected a close fight but i was wrong. Im not one for hyperbole and getting carried away but this version trumps the Mofi in every single way.... soundstage bigger, richer deeper more present bass, silkier more natural top and upper mids. Playing the Mofi reveals a comparitively thinner, flatter and dryer sound. Easily the worst Mofi One Step ive heard. This classic is never going to be a demo disc with such middling recording but to get the tapes sounding this good is an achievement of epic proportions. To say this is the definitive vinyl edition is no understatement!!

I have nothing to compare but I LOVE the way this 2xLP sounds. Couldn't be happier ! (I researched this before buying and it seemed people were hardly ever happy with ANY cut of this, so I take it all into consideration. I'm already a fan of un-hyped high freqs, so the way this sounds fits with my taste. I can also STILL hear up to 15 kHz. Can YOU ? lol)
