      Excellent pressing. I also have the Merge pressing and the second record (especially side 4) is unlistenable due to the massive amount of surface noise. This pressing has no such issues. Turn the bass & treble knobs up a bit and it sounds fantastic. The cover is not quite as glossy as the Merge version but I like this one better (and the colors are a tiny bit warmer as well).

        Turn the volume up a little bit, and it sounds perfectly fine. Not as dynamic as some of the top albums I own, but I think it more than gets the job done.

          My copy of this, purchased new in 2010, has the "Yellow" cover, and the disc matches Variant 2 except that it says M1S4, which is not one of the runouts listed for the "Yellow" version here. Can anyone explain this inconsistency?

                No complaints from me. Mastered by Ryan K Smith. Silent vinyl. Really good dynamic range. Not sure what people are talking about no bass... It's mastered at pretty low volume, but that just means you can absolutely crank it! I think Ryan has mastered to highlight the vocals and guitar, which is fine by me!

                    I 100% have this pressing and not the OG Merge cut (and I don't have it for comparison) and I 100% agree with those saying the mastering sounds a little lifeless. It's not awful by any means, but it lacks the punch and depth I was hoping for. And I'm not hearing much low-end, either. Some of it may just be the recording, I'm honestly not sure. Turning it up fairly loud does help, but only so much. Hopefully this is not considered the definitive release, because I feel like it could be done better.

                    The pressing, however, is excellent.

                    Edit: Both the Merge cut and this press are listed as DR10 on the database. The CD is listed as DR7, so if you are looking for dynamics, at least on paper, either cut on vinyl is better, but neither are awesome. That said, dynamics aren't everything.
