- Anyone else get lucky and grab it at his concert signed? I geeked out when I saw it signed and knew I needed it
- Curious if anyone else has had issues with this pressing (Limited Edition, Clear).
The first record I received has an audible scratching / static noise on the right channel only. This is apparent on all sides of the LPs, A-D. The sound grows more apparent as the record progresses and the cartridge moves closer to the center. I went through lengthy troubleshooting steps to narrow the issue, all which led me to believe the record was the cause of the issue. No problem - requested another from Merchtable and they gladly helped.
New record came in today and I was curious how it would play. Unfortunately, the same issue.
My understanding is this is likely caused by a defective pressing. Either:
- a bad plating job (manufacturing defect of the metal stamper) or
- a non-fill (where the vinyl did not sufficiently fill the stamper)
This is truly a shame because FKJ is such an incredible musician who cares so much about sound. The fact his sound cannot clearly reach my ears due to a manufacturing defect is disappointing.
It seems a few others have commented they are enjoying this pressing, so I am curious to what extent this issue exists. I'm almost certain I can't be the only one, so I am posting here to see who else has ran into this issue.
Thanks!

P.S. I would like to take a moment to point out that while the same issue on different records may indicate that my system is the cause of the problem, I am certain this is not my system. The fact I can play many other records without this noise in the right channel should be sufficient to rule out this probability, but as I mentioned above, I went through lots of troubleshooting for safe measure:
- Ensuring all wiring was sound
- Swapping speaker placement
- Swapping Left/Right output from record player
- Listening with headphones
- Unscrewing ground cable from the record player,
- Cleaning the stylus referencing Vincent (2×LP, Album) FKJ007LP
Excellent record, just a good cleaning is needed before first play!- Super clean pressing. Very nice quality, separation, and depth. Volume is a little lower than some of his other pressings I've got in my collection. The crystal clear pressing is fantastic and the upgrade sleeve w/ the branding is a cool touch.
- record sounds great and all but the outer sleeve that it comes with is such a waste. The hype stickers and logo are nice which makes me want to keep it, but it's very oversized and made with PVC so I'm hesitant to keep the record in the sleeve alongside my other records. Should've been like the outer sleeve for "What Kinda Music" by Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes; eco-friendly recycled plastic.

This is an amazing album. I am super happy I did not hesitate to get it.
