Had this sitting around un-cleaned for too long, gave it a deep clean...WOW. YOU are one with the music on this pressing for sure. So well recorded, the horns and strings soar, in addition to huge bottom end. Listening on a Pro-Ject 2Xperience Classic, AT540ML, Sutherland Vibe preamp. Very dynamic and quiet.

Enchanting soundtrack of a film that is a milestone of the cinema of the 80s. Then, personally, it was the first film that made me fall in love with cinema. It moved me so much - Colonna sonora incantevole di un film che è una pietra miliare del cinema degli anni '80. Poi, personalmente, è stato il primo film che mi fece innamorare del cinema. Mi emozionò tanto.

It's probably impossible to split nostalgia from genuine love of this soundtrack, but if I do my best I can honestly say there are some profound and extremely touching moments within the E.T. soundtrack. I'll note that a bit of the chase music falls on Williams standards and could be easily used in similar scenes from any other Spielberg movie. But some of these pieces are so iconic to the love shared between a boy and his alien friend that they couldn't fit anywhere else but here. This music still stirs me after all these years.

Fact is, if you want to hear it with less distorted transients, this release will be it.

The worst-sounding record I've ever owned. Decent for display if you get a new pvc sleeve, though.

One of my first cd purchases ever and after many collecting years I am still amazed of this excellent Japanese mastering of this brilliant score, I am overwhelmed by the extreme good audio quality. I can recommend this disc to any music lover!

On this brand new LP there are a lot of pops and crackles. Not sure if it is a bad copy, bad reissue, or just because it is a very quiet album. I am using a Pro-Ject Xpression III with AT OC-9/III and Musical Fidelity pre-amp and the noise is such that I cannot enjoy the album.

I have a collectors edition of the original motion picture soundtrack of E.T. It's never been played and has E.T. embossed picture on album. It's for sale.
