This grouping gathers together all versions of the "Greatest Hits III" compilation, originally released in 1999.

It also appears as part of "The Platinum Collection", along with the previous two "Greatest Hits" compilations.

Simultaneous to the album release was the "Greatest Flix III" video assemblage (grouped separately).

Release was marketed using 'Queen+' to indicate contributors other than Queen members appear on the release.
The use of 'Queen+' was discussed as an ANV here and agreed not to apply

The collector appears under the name Queen + Greatest hits 3. Queen + because it is in this case an album in which also other singers next to Freddie Mercury. Interesting in Paris included the live version of "The Show Must Go On" with Elton John, a special for this album remix of "Under Pressure" with David Bowie, and Wyclef Jean's remix of Another One Bites The Dust as it was heard in the film Small Soldiers. By Freddie Mercury solo we hear Barcelona with Montserrat Caballe and The Great Pretender. Queen's itself is mainly later work on this cd, including songs like Too Much Love Will Kill You, You Don't Fool Me and These Are The Days Of Our Life. At the instigation of the fans we find here also, Brian may's emotional tribute "No-one But You, the only new Queen-song since the death of Freddie Mercury. The group name Queen + also puts the door open to new activities of the three remaining group members.
