Birth has to be one of THE tracks of the late ‘60s. Check it out on YT. Roy Phillips’s vocals are just amazing

All of the Peddlers' albums ooze class and style but ''Birthday" is the best with the trio's wonderful musical ability showcased to the full. As usual, the band take well known standards and rework them with their own inimitable style (Where Have All The Flowers Gone, Little Red Rooster) but on this album it is the originals which really shine, particularly Roy Phillip's magnificent "Girlie" and "Birth". But the standout track is the extended workout on "Lokshen Pudding" which allows all three members of the band to show off their abilities with extended solos, and they pull it off magnificently. Never has a hammond organ sounded so good.
