Mine is absolutely squeaky clean. No defects whatsoever. Great sturdy tip-on jacket. Phenomenal sound. On par with Anologue Productions’ Lightnin’ Hopkins albums. Just the man with huis guitar. Great job Craft!

Some excellent songs on this lp. This NZ pressing sounds like it's mono. I have no other pressing to compare this to, but this one sounds very good to me. Huge dynamic range.

can anyone explain to me why Hooker's voice almost constantly unnaturally moves from the middle to the left, to the right, etc., and constantly floats around the stage. Is it so on the original recording or is it the result of mastering? It seems weird. At the LP beginning, I even thought the sound was out of phase, and I checked to see if the cables were badly connected... Always the original recording was mono right? Is this some weird pseudo-stereo?

Fantastic album! Great mastering, only issue is the pressing plays with more tics than it should.

Pretty narrow stereo field that comes across sounding like mono as it's just JLH and his guitar. But it's great music that sounds fantastic. Tough to beat for the price!

I feel like this is what it would sound like if you could be there with JL Hooker alone in his room, practicing his favourite and most intimate songs. It's just a quiet, chill, folksy album.

It sounds pretty good; a very nice remastering & press. Voice of John Lee has a nice presence and dynamic, you can hear clearly the guitar picking and strings glitches. You can also hear, lightly, the tape hiss in background.
'Just' John Lee Hooker and his guitar in a pure traditional Blues style ! I really enjoy this LP.
Recommanded for all Blues lovers !
