Ecstasy Mini LP and Strawberry wine EP sound better than this. This compilation was released without the band's consent and the sound quality is inferior. Try to buy both records individually and you will better enjoy the beautiful washes of sound.

Heard the original Strawberry Wine in Manchester in 1987, it was my first introduction to MBV, heard the bootlegs, same thing.

I have both versions of Strawberry Wine and they sound the same to me. What makes you think this is a different version?

A lot of folks here are selling bootlegs and prolly don't even know it. There must be a well-done bootleg of this vinyl, as with all the Lazy vinyl releases, as too many people are selling it as "New".

This album (which is actually a compilation of two EPs) is every bit as good as My Bloody Valentine's later and better known work on Creation Records. And it's in this period My Bloody Valentine made their biggest steps onto new musical territory - influencing the first generation of shoegazer bands which started to release records in 1989. Of course MBV went on to refine their sound, but if you think shoegazer music is not only about bliss but also about noise, then you're very well served with Ecstacy and Wine. The best song on the album and the ultimate MBV song in my book is the haunting (Please) Lose Yourself In Me.
