Tomita – Snowflakes Are Dancing

Truly gorgeous sounding record filled with richness and detail. Very dynamic, which is what you want from classical music played on electronics.

Mindblowing 1970's abum, delivered with both artistic delicacy & musical chops. So damn cool it kind of defies description. You have to listen to it to dig it, man. Also a sonic marvel of the highest order. Go Dynaflex go!

Sounds great, great packaging. in fact this maybe the quad mix. Dolby processing is definitely placing things from the rear.

This is an amazing Dynaflex pressing. Very quiet vinyl and magical music. I was introduced to this when it came out in the early 70s and it holds its place now. Wonderfully transporting. Debussy might even like it!

Dreamy. Haunting. Very quiet pressing with a fantastic sound stage.

It is a recording that you can listen to repeatedly until you hear nothing else. All you need to do is to keep quiet. In a few minutes all the right answers come through and you will find that there had never been any reason, after all, to feel angry.If you do not know this recording, I envy your first listen. Track 5 especially will stay with you for always, as the best music does ... never outside time. If you ever wanted to hear Tomita’s Classical Albums in Discrete 4.1 Channel sound from the original Quadraphonic master tapes, this is it. I highly recommend this and all of the following Tomita SACDs for ultra clean, powerful, true Quadraphonic sound with deep bass and no distortion:

Clair de Lune, Pictures, and Planets Ultimate Editions (with good remixes and additional tracks). AND (the original, complete) Firebird and Daphnis et Chloé albums on Vocalion SACDs.

Incredibly dynamic digital transfer, the effect can be quite jarring.

Back card of CD states: “This program has been produced with the Dolby Surround encoding system”. This is a matrix technology invented in 1987. It's almost the only type of "Surround" that works on a conventional CD rather than a DVD-A (or SACD or Blu-ray). However, it does not sound like the more widely-known discrete 5.1 Surround, and in fact most listeners wouldn't really consider this to be true Surround as modern listeners know it. Despite this, I enjoy listening to it, and recommend it to those who are open-minded about the charms of certain obscure/archaic audio technologies.
