Copy I just got from the Secretly group store is a bit ropey… certainly adequate but few too many pops and such. This masterpiece deserves a mega heavy black (i.e. no stupid novelty colours) vinyl, please oblige us label masters.

i don't have another copy to compare but this seems to be the one to get. my copy has no surface noise or pops / other issues whatsoever and the sound quality is superb. punchy bass, well mastered for vinyl, sounds great on my system.

Underwhelming to say the least: 10 year anniversary of this underrated classic and once again it's a botch job from Jagjaguwar. Flimsy packaging and a cheap paper innersleeve? Sure, cut a few corners if it helps putting this record out there. But unintended distortion and noise overpowering this kind of wonderful and fragile music... seriously, how does this label keep getting away with it?

Somewhat echoing what others here have said, this is possibly one of the worst modern pressings in my collection. Jagjaguwar have released a new reissue for the 10th anniversary of the album. Does anyone here who has purchased a copy of the reissue have any comments in regards to the quality?

This pressing sounds so much better than the US Jagjaguwar pressing. As another user said, the vinyl itself is quiet and the sound quality is fantastic.

"Low-fi, Noise, Indie Rock" may be a fair initial assessment but after a considerable number of repeat listens (it may take months!) You will add words like " melodic" "choral" and even "bassy" to your description of this album. I have it up there with Spiderland and Loveless. Vinyl is quiet.

Pre-Ordered the limited clear vinyl version today (Rarities, 2007-2010 bundle). Bandcamp said it was an 'edition of 100', but the Jagjaguwar website had no mention of the number of copies being pressed. Anybody know what's up with this release?

Fantastic album, but this press sounds really bad. I'd have to do a comparison with a digital copy to say for sure (maybe it's just lo-fi), but it sounds super muddled on my system. Frequency range compressed, so no highs or lows, just bassy mids.
