I can hear the Zappa influence from the grugahalle in that and I like it in spite off.

This release (2014 EU 535-145-2) is on transparent white vinyl, which is missing from the description.

Even though the original clear vinyl issue with x-ray sleeve is a work of conceptual genius (looking quite unlike any other record ever made, especially at the time, 1972) I actually prefer this black vinyl version as it seems to play much better and much quieter.
The clear vinyl pressings I have are noisier, especially during the quiet passages.
Simply put - one of the greatest albums ever made and, imo, Faust's best (closely followed by 'Tapes').

I bought this myself in 1998, the shop had just got a copy during the week. Couldn't figure out which version of the album it was for years, now I finally know!

Is this reissue as good of quality as the original release is?

Bought this reissue when it came out, and pulled it out recently to discover that the PVC sleeve had fogged the record. Didn't end up damaging playability all that much, but it's a good idea to not keep this record in the clear sleeve.

Even though the original transparent vinyl / X-ray sleeve looks amazing, I actually prefer this (black vinyl) pressing as it seems to play better to my ears. I don't really like coloured vinyl and clear is the most unstable of all, lacking the strength ingredient - carbon. The cover still looks amazing in any case. I have two copies of the transparent pressing and neither plays particularly well.

The album that Nurse With Wound must have gotten his sound from.
