        Does anyone know 100% when Der Klang was fully produced and recorded? Pressed on pre-release even? For example acetates/dub plates/test pressings? And was it perhaps circulating on some DJ/Club circuits from 1991? I only remember it from its general release date of 1992 as I believe I first heard it on either Colin Dale's Abstract Dance show or Colin Faver's Future Of Dance show around spring 1992 I think.

        However, even at the time it was one of those tracks which sounded like it's been around for a while longer. It gave that false sense of deja vu. That eerie, distant synth-string effect ended up being sampled and reappropriated on several other styles of music for a while after its initial release. Was rather subtle but influentual nevertheless.

          The name of the record implies a come together of techno lovers: "Der Klang Der Familie" (The Sound of the Family)

          It is quite sad, and darkly ironic if it instead caused a rift between Detroit and Berlin :-(

            A techno classic! It has one of the most recognizable techno synth riffs, simple it may be (F# E C), but it sounds otherwordly, futuristic, iconic! There was another classic of '92 Fabi Paras' remix of React II Rhythm's "I Know You'll Like It" that it can be compared to.
