Was it originally a POSTER with this issue? Just wondering - cause mine has it.

Mine has a date stamped on the inner side of the card that reads "March 01 1990", could 1990 be the release year for this cassette?

Some copies of this version will appear golden/amber translucent over light.

Truthfully, this record is mastered like garbage. It is tinny and shrill sounding like some other 80's metal releases. For reference I am playing it on a Rega P8, Aphetta 3, Sutherland pHD phonostage, Primaluna Premium integrated into Focal Aria 936 speakers with dual Sumiko S9 subs. So it's not my setup. Record was cleaned ultrasonically and I have seen this with some other releases from that era also. Crap mastering from the era.

In a musical asylum, cut off from the creative zenith! So the album title is about the only thing that hits the mark here. I can only describe the whole album as uninspired. The Cover Artwork is boring as hell, the inlay too. The production is somehow mopey and soggy. Only the songs on which Desmond Child worked with have a certain ignition that makes you sit up and take notice, and where you start grooving along a bit. I can't even begin to remember the other songs after listening to them twice, and I prefer to leave the inexhaustible memory space of my brain to other productions by these four gentlemen. "Tears are falling" just annoyed me and I only finished listening to it because I don't have a remote control for the record player. I put on "Crazy Nights" afterwards for comparison and am once again simply thrilled by this album! "Asylum" has none of what makes "Crazy Nights" so desirable. It completely lacks that brilliance and that light-footed euphoria. Production, songwriting, design, "Asylum" is altogether just a work that anyone, fan or not, can safely skip completely. Don't get me wrong, the album is not bad, but it also has nothing to offer that Kiss wouldn't have done much better elsewhere. To be fair "King of the Mountain" is a solid piece of good rock music.
