too compressed. what a missed opportunity. they wanted to let them sound ok on cheap equipment. Besides different artistic choices in the mix, which are a lot, these releases does not sound that musical to me. I prefer the old mixes with way more dynamics and purity, but you need to have a good pressing of the old mix (like the mid 80ties virgin (german) releases

I'm really sad about this new recut version. The original version was powerless and this one too because of a poor sharp cut of sound. But the work on this new version is clean : each instrument is more defined including PG's voice.
The Lamb is one the greatest prog album of alle the times.

very good AAA release! dead silent and perfectly balanced version. Maybe the latest AAA release with the original mix. (the Classis records edition does not sound any better...)

I have this version as well as the first. The Blue label doesn't have quite the low end grunt of the Hatter label but they did manage to remove the background whine that plagued the first mastering. Props at least for that!

So glad I pulled the trigger on this one. Of course, I own the original 1974 LP as well as the CD and the surround mix set as well, but this is a fantastic mix and t6he vinyl is perfection. So many emotions are released when listening to this music. "Classic" doesn't do it justice.

Great sounding pressing, people say the UK is better but it's the same mastering so maybe the pressing quality is just better on the UK.

Epic mother of all double concept prog albums. A record of amazingly stylistic variety showcasing Genesis at their peak that forecasts Peter Gabriel's farewell from the band. An audio drama that actually deserves to be called a "rock opera" - all the tracks segue well together so stick to listening to the whole album as a whole. One of the most important achievements in the prog-rock genre.
Highly rewarding with lots of magic moments.

I have a Dutch copy of this album on vinyl and this mastering blows the LP away. More presence and definition of instruments, more lively vocals, wider and deeper scene.
