Van Halen – 1984

It does not sound bad overall, but low frequencies are indeed cut at this release. Who did this remastering only? I am disappointed.

I presume that the big 'MCMLXXXIV' sticker was purposely used to cover the fag in the cherub's hand, the packet and the ashtray to protect the sensibilities of Brits who know that smoking kills?

Sounds phenomenal, had some scratches on side b, but they didn’t seem to affect play.

I have this exact pressing. Bar code matches and everything in the deadwax totally matches, except .y copy also has a CB in the deadwax. Yes, the Chris Bellman CB.

I don’t get all the critique… My copy is flat, near deadsilent after one round on the Okki Nokki and plays without any problems. Great mastering; balanced, natural, punchy, decent bass and perfectly clear cymbals.

Compré ahora en Colecciones La Nación, no estoy muy convencido con el sonido, le falta power, suena medio apagado para mí gusto. Me pasó lo mismo que al de otra review, la primera pasada tenía varios saltos en el primer track del Lado A (en su caso del Lado B)

Excellent pressing! Still after this years , the synth intro is fantastic and powerful...

VH are one of my all time favorite rock bands and for some stupid reason I went all this time without ever owing any of their albums on vinyl. (I have all of their albums on OG CDs) I was gonna buy the DLR era VH on the MFSL OneSteps, but the price for all 6 albums is frightfully expensive were I live (about 1900 AUD). But I’m more than happy with these CB remasters. This pressing of 1984 sounds better than my OG CD, better and more present bass, I don’t get the top end harshness that others are reporting and the midrange is clear and has really good separation. Also, the 180g vinyl was quiet, spins flat and it’s very reasonably priced (bought my sealed copy for 45 AUD). Really happy with these CB pressings (I only have VH II and Diver Down left to purchase to complete the DLR era collection.)
**Update: I now have all of the CB mastered DLR era VH records. Absolutely stoked!

My dudes! This vinyl sounds terrific! Most excellently balanced mix. This is a really good listen. The vinly is very darkly semi-translucent. And yes, the back cover is flipped. This is not by mistake and is completely intentional.

I have one of these, but with the back upside down!
Wondering if it's worth a good chunk of change, or not.
