I am blown away by this pressing! An absolute beautiful piece of wax! All analog (to my knowledge), Super clean, dead quiet - not even a hint of surface noise, 180 gram vinyl and flat as a pancake.
Amazing sound, it really pops out of the speakers! I have never owned an original vinyl pressing of 1984 (had it on cassette) but imagine it doesn’t get any better than this.
I really dig the light blue, Warner Records label on this 2019 repress. Nice, heavy stock inner sleeve - repro of the original. Cut by CB (in the dead wax) @ BG mastering - a no brainer if you love this album!

The Discogs seller SOUNDMESSENGER is resealing albums and charging TOP DOLLAR BUYERS BEWARE! Only certain labels sealed their albums in japan. Smh i hope he gets removed from the site.

My copy plays great. No sibilance on cymbals. Perhaps a bit hot on the last song side A, but nothing really bad.

I was in high school in '84, and as a long time Van Halen fan, I was disappointed at the new direction the band had taken, with the incorporation of synths. I felt they were heading in the direction of 'wimp rock' bands like Journey, Bon Jovi, and others. In retrospect, of course I was wrong, as keyboards became as much a mainstay of this band's future sound as David Lee Roth would become, lol. But seriously, we were witnessing a burst of genius at the time and just didn't know it.

In addition to the massive hits "Jump" and "Panama", Eddie really gets to shine on guitar with tunes like "Top Jimmy" and "Hot 4 Teacher".

The writing is great and performances are excellent. This pressing sounds great. Recommended.

Amazing sound definition! They also did the same kind of promo with Fair Warning. They both are pressed on transparent virgin vinyl (the promos).

Probably the most weird album cover version of '1984' in the world. There is no pack of cigarette in this front cover. It was erased and the right hand was re-touched due to censorship during those days in Korea.

Other than that little "defect" this pressing sounds excellent for the most part - the only issue i have with the remaster is the way the first drums sound on "Jump," where it sounds like it's being distorted by analog tape or something. But other than this, I have never heard "Panama" sound any better. Love this!
