It is about time to get a proper reissue of Code.
A good sounding remaster, not brick walled, and including the bonus track "Hey Hey".
Further, I am expecting a SDE.
There are a lot of excellent period remixes, that would make up for two extra remastered CDs. Here is a proposed curated track listing of the mixes I am aware of to my best knowledge (this is how I have organized my digital files and listen to them):
CD2 | 64:05
2-01 Here To Go (Extended Mix)
2-02 Don't Argue (John Robie Extended Version)
2-03 Code (12inch Mix)
2-04 Sex, Money, Freaks (Kervorkian 12inch Mix)
2-05 Thank You America (Kevorkian Remix)
2-06 Here To Go (Live Drum Jacknife Remix By Adrian Sherwood)
2-07 Here To Go (Space Dub AKA Big Dub)
2-08 Don't Argue (Dance)
2-09 Don't Argue (Who's Arguing)
CD3 | 55:11
3-01 Here To Go (7inch Version)
3-02 Don't Argue (7inch Version)
3-03 Sex, Money, Freaks (Kervorkian 12inch Dub)
3-04 Thank You America (Bonus Beats)
3-05 Here To Go (Little Dub)
3-06 Here To Go (Eleven Eleven Mix)
3-07 Don't Argue (Dub Version)
3-08 Don't Argue (Hate & Destroy Mix)
As 4th CD, a previously unreleased period live recording would be perfect.
And to round up the SDE with a 5th disc, what about a DVD with period videos and concert footage? referencing Code (CD, Album) CDP 7 46999 2
Instead of the high priced boxes how about a reissue of Code? Mute don't seem to be interested. UMG have made it nearly impossible to get through to them and the licensing department has gone into hiding. Staff cuts again...
I'm not expecting a SDE cause there really wasn't a lot of remixes. I just want a good sounding, not too loud remaster.
They could even pair it with Groovy, Laidback and Nasty. Kinda goes with Code. Then the EMI years would be done.
Code is the only CV cd missing from my collection. Got stolen years ago and I never replaced it with hopes of a reissue. Seemed like the late 90s and early 00s were a boom for re-releasing anything that ever had an interest. (Nowadays it seems like reissue labels are still sprouting up and will offer ultra deluxe versions of records most people have never heard of.)
Yes, I've purchased all of the boxes and prehistoric recordings.- Edited 5 years ago

Wow. A lot of reviewers don't like this danceable, catchy, yet still somehow cerebral synth-pop classic. I think this is a fantastic album that just gets better as the years go by. Granted it was a departure from their previous style, but I think that shows how talented they were/are. Maybe they should have made 50 albums that all sound the same. Like Haujjob. But then I suppose the same critical reviewers would denounce them for resting on their laurels. No pleasing some people. My comment to the haters would be this.

Such an awesome album from Cab Vol. I think it was meant to be commercial but who cares it has some awesome beats and sounds great on a good stereo system. Funky, industrial and catchy would be some words I'd use. Underated indeed and worth the purchase if you have not got it yet.referencing Code (CD, Album) CDP 7 46999 2
The samples in "Don't Argue" are from the 1945 US post-war orientation film "Your Job In Germany", written by Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) and directed by Frank Capra.
