Notes
Arthur Brown's vocals on Shadows Of Ignorance were improvised. Klaus Schulze transcribed the lyrics afterwards, hence the Text credit to Klaus Schulze on all releases is wrong.
On the original vinyl issue the A side (SST cut) is slightly longer. This was due to when being re-cut, the tail end of the master tape was damaged and fades-off earlier.

Cannot understand the folks thrashing Brown's vocals here. Those are fantastic! Pure in tone, musical and melodic, singing mystical lyrics (presumably inspired by "Dune") to an equally mystical music. After reading the reviews I expected a disaster of carrier-destroying proportions but it looks like there simply are some fanatical purists who only want Klaus's music to be instrumental. Bollocks! "Shadows of ignorance" is a great success and is rapidly entering the list of my favourites - I only discovered it today and am already on the third listen in a row!
This reminds me of the thrashing Tangerine Dream's "Cyclone" gets - while in reality, say, "Bent cold sidewalk" is a perfect piece of music and has to be heard to be believed! Come on, people, don't be so close-minded and stiff!referencing Dune (CD, Album, Reissue) 811 842-2
On this version, the last 20 s of the title track are missing.referencing Dune (LP, Album, Stereo) 0060.225
Does this edition also have metallic covers like this edition:
https://www.discogs.com/Klaus-Schulze-Dune/release/8469697- Klaus Schulze with vocals, hmmm... Track 1 is one of Klaus's better explorations of interplay between his synth and Tiepold's Cello, best accomplished on 'Audentity' but very good here. Track 2 starts well but goes downhill when Arthur Brown steps up to the mic., at best let's call that vocal rendition 'average'. The bonus material is rather unusual as Klaus decides to alter the tempo a few times, gasp! Yes I know, this guy is usually immutable on tempo, but this quasi-live offering is rather fun and washes away the odd taste left by 'Shadows Of Ignorance'. Definitely NOT boring!

A tale of two halves.
The title track could have come off X with it's soaring strings and voices.A majestic piece of music.
Unfortunately the second track is, IMO, a failure. It features the cringe-worthy vocals of Arthur Brown, and is musically uninspiring. referencing Dune (LP, Album, Stereo) 660.050
Klaus delivers with a fascinating single with two brilliant tracks. The haunting and ethereal quality of Dune fills one's headphones with a fascinating layered soundscape of synthesizers, in a neo-electro/quasi-classical sensation. Shadows of Ignorance, with the percolating synths and minimal electro drums builds in as the vocoder haunts the listener...Then, the poetry comes forth with the enlightening words, while more synths and some fantastic acoustic instrumentation works through the track. This music reminds me of Tangerine Dream, Rus Stewart, and Harold Budd, and all music of this sort, I have been a huge fan of as long as I can recall. This is one of my fave records in my collection, a timeless classic!
