Such a great sounding record - so happy to have added this in to my collection - brilliance

Really good-sounding album. Consistently high quality songwriting makes this one a surprisingly good find.

Sounds great but my A6 has 2 factory scratches that result in a bunch of pops.

Excellent recording, first rate digital transfer, solid musicianship, so why oh why would they put the by far best song they will ever write at the poll position!? The rest of the album doesn't even come close...

Lots of "Yanks" like myself have missed out on this gem for too long! This is part of why I love RSD - see an interesting album, find lots of positive past reviews, end up buying, loving it, and including it in the rotation

I agree with triceratops. Definitely a quiet pressing. Great sound. I noticed some minor issues, sides C/D (BBC Sessions but also all of the bonus tracks) are clearly louder in my copy compared to A/B (still fantastic!). I should check again anyway. Marble effects may vary as we all know. In my case, marble curves look far less defined. I think it's a rip-off to pay such a high price in Europe for this release but it's nice to have a color edition. Missed a gatefold to make the difference, though.

Quiet pressing of one of the more wonderful (and, here in the US, underrated) records of the '80s. True it doesn't have boomin' bass, but, um, it's folk rock. Turn down the treble a tad and it feels just about spot on. (UPDATE: Since writing this, I've compared it against my OG US pressing and it's true, the original is definitely louder and fatter. But this one is is still nice-sounding). Glad to have the live extras, which take me back to seeing them live on the original tour for this album. This is one of the rsd releases I got, not because it'll one day be worth millions, but just because it makes me happy. :)

This does sound really good. Nice and clear and bright.

I think this album sounds great and definitely a good pickup. Not sure what Mike03 is hearing but I hear plenty of bass. Anytime looking for a mastering masterpiece from the proclaimers then lol.

The pressing is flat and quiet. The mastering is average. I am not sure if it was the way many pop/rock music was recorded but it has a flat sound stage, lacks bass and lacks high frequency details. May be that is too much to ask since we are paying 4 to 5 times the price for the music compared to any other media format. The music is still very enjoyable.
