Gorillaz – Cracker Island

Sounds better than my collectors edition one. Very strange indeed

This álbum from Gorillaz is nice but has a streach to reach heigths. Nice sound (not on every song) but deserve a lisening.

Neon pink pressing, sounds wonderful, punchy and dynamic, I can't make out any noise on mine, and nice they managed to cram it all on a single LP.

I don't have double A-side labels, but another strange thing ... there is a "quarter moon" debossed in my A-side Label.
Anybody else got this? Could not find a Version that lists this "feature". It is possible of course that this is just a pressing defect of any kind...some solid part got stuck in the press and made that debossing on the label (for some copies or just mine). But it looks very clean and on purpose.
I did not upload a picture of it, bc it seems not appropriate to include it if it may be just a defect. I upload a pic on my cloud drive if anybody wants to see it. Just throw me a pm...

Another strange thing is that my copy mixes up some matrix info from other versions around here.
Checked them very carfully and they are:
Matrix A-Side: 5054197199738-A (1) JN-H Sterling 1398281 247988E1
Matrix B-Side: 5054197199738-B (1) JN-H Sterling 1398774 247988E2

My copy is transparent neon purple indeed. And hype sticker matches the exact look given here. Stickered barcode is exactly as given - but:
A-side matrix points to black EU release > Gorillaz - Cracker Island
B-side matrix points to US Target Exclusive version -or- the black EU release. > Gorillaz - Cracker Island

So matrix does not match this version here at all. I'm quite cofused which one I got, or if the variations given here at DC are universal for one pressing, and GZ just mixed the bags for all neon purple copies and punched different hype stickers on them. So (nearly) all neon purple versions should be under just one entry with a "worldwide" country indication. Packaging seems the same all the time. I could not see any difference. What would be the unique indicator for Precision Pressing? GZ and Precision are 50:50 brothers - they may be just identified by that "Made in Canda" sticker - but no variant list that extra "10-xxxxxxxx" for the matrix. To my understanding there is no way that perfect identical matrix numbers could be used in the EU and in Canada...only if they shipped identical sons around the world wich seems strange to me ?!?

Sound and pressing of my copy is great...no complaint here - but I havent listened to it with deeper concentration yet...there may be some issues that pop up later. As always...it is lot of fun to hunt for the own variant. :D Keep spinnin'

Possession Island sounds just disgusting, piano part is very distorted. Does anyone have this song playing well?

Anyone else has A-side stickers on both sides? The only way to know which side is which is by looking at the matrix code.

A good pop album from Gorillas.
The disc is smooth, well centered, thin (130 grams). The mass is quiet.
The sound of the soundtrack is excellent — the dynamic range is wide, the balance is even, the scene is wide, very good detail. But there is still a fly in the ointment. As they say in many reviews — on the last track, the piano parts are played with a very audible distortion. Most likely, the problem is in the mastering of the album.
The album cover is cartoon as always — for an amateur. The envelope is classic, inside there is a double-sided poster folded in half. The inner envelope is colored (pink) with an apple cutout, but without a cellophane pad. In general, I like such publications — a classic envelope with a classic thickness and weight of the plate.
In general, I recommend this album release.

Great album. I like how the band was trying to go for the pop genre, and they did a fantastic job. I also really like the laid back and chill vibe of this album, I can just sit back, relax and enjoy the songs. 9/10.

Awesome pressing, really quiet and the color is just vibrant! Great work!

Btw: we are reviewing the quality of the pressing, not music itself. Love it or hate it but this site is about the physical format.

The person holding this in the images...yikes! The fact that this came in a media mailer, loose, with no protective anything, and they couldn't be arsed to send us a jacket with it...also yikes! I already played the baby pink one which sounds fine so this one will just join it in that jacket I suppose.
