Autobahn is the fourth studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk, released in November 1974 by Philips Records. The album marked several personnel changes in the band, which was initially a duo consisting of Florian Schneider and Ralf Hütter; later, the group added Klaus Röder on guitar and flute, and Wolfgang Flür on percussion. The album also completed the group's transition from the experimental krautrock style of their earlier work to an electronic pop sound consisting mostly of synthesizers and drum machines. Recording started at the group's own Kling Klang facility, but was predominantly made at Conny's Studio. Autobahn also includes lyrics and a new look for the group that was suggested by Emil Schult, an associate of Florian Schneider and Ralf Hütter.

My copy UK has white Vertigo swirled, no barcode on sleeve and black vinyl.- It is always a risk. My copy with swirl label of Vertigo is a copy on black vinyl. I listened to it and it surprises me that as an unofficial release , the sound is good, no disturbing sounds or flutters.

Unfortunately,the digitizing really shows with this LP.Lacks all the dynamics of the original.Why do they bother putting a digital source onto an analogue format,it is the worst of both worlds.- Received my copy and it sounds very good. Cleaned it first. Running it with an ortofon bronze cart and through a pair of Wilson sabrinas, this rig can be very unforgiving of poor quality pressings.. Definitely a great value
Very consistent crackling throughout the whole album. Disappointing, especially since the mastering is so good.

The best krautrock album and the greatest album from Kraftwerk. It's not for nothing that Autobahn was the first electronic album to become world famous.
