One of four albums McDuff recorded for Atlantic in the mid-60s, DO IT NOW is a typically soulful effort pairing the organist with guitarist Melvin Sparks on songs such as "Mush Melon", the title track, and "Pleasant Moments", the latter written by Harold Ousley. This is a 1967 pressing in glorious mono, with good range from top to bottom, and a full-bodied, robust soundstage. My copy plays nice and clean, with just a bit of faint surface noise at the beginning of each side.

What I like about this is that it's mostly originals. These organ records that include covers of then-current R&B hits often end up sounding like elevator music. One standard on here is "Summer Samba" and it is delightful, perfect for organ. Good recorded sound, nothing great. Very nice wide soundstage, close your eyes and you can easily place the instruments on the soundstage. Not so easy to find in clean condition, but if you find one it probably won't be too expensive. I picked up this clean copy for 10 bucks.

Great album! Along with the other IDs noted my mono copy has an “M”, “LT” and an “LW”. Is this a unique pressing or part of this noted release?
