The Collectors* – Trainer EP

This a great ep produced by Iain Law who is also known for his productions under the name Yunx and has released many quality tracks on his own Yunx Recordings label and the superb Ai label.

"Air Max" is a melodic acid houser with its dreamy synth overlaying the track throughout,hypnotic bassline,four to the floor beats and a 303 burbling along in the background which becomes more prominent as the track progresses resulting in an explosion of acid that will burn any dance floor! My favourite on the ep!

"Stan Smith" kicks off with a dark & moody intro which is shortly followed by a beat that's similar to that on Bochum Welts "Fortune Green".It's not long before the mood changes with a funky guitar sample and a squelchy 303 riff leading the way until the drums really start to kick in.You can imagine Animal from the "Muppets" playing the drums on this!
Maybe he made a guest appearance? I love it! There's loads going on and has a great jazzy feel to it.
