This album is fantastic!
Mani Neumeier & Peter Hollinger adapt to a rigid form but still manage to make interesting, dynamic performances. Garudas Dance with it's 9/4 rhythm and infectious melody continues to rock on in my lounge room 20 years on.
Maybe gamelan purists might dismiss these attempts at bridging cultures but I found all the performances on this recording to be solid through and through.

This is probably one of the worst records of world that has been recorded. Drummer of guru guru who meet musicians from Bali. The problem is that a meeting requires mutual understanding, if it is just a drummer who plays in a style bit silly to accompany traditional music, it has no interest. Forget it quickly.
