Notes
Paranoid is Black Sabbath's second studio album, released September 1970 in the UK. The USA release was delayed until January 1971. This was the band's only album to top the UK Albums Chart until the release of 13 in 2013. Paranoid features several signature songs, including "War Pigs," "Iron Man," "Fairies Wear Boots," and the title track, which was the band's only Top 20 hit, reaching number 4 in the UK charts. The album has been the focus of many accolades. Rolling Stone, in 2017, called Paranoid the greatest metal album of all time.

- Just got in the mail today cleaned and there is a defect that is audible for about a min in the quiet passage in the middle of War Pigs. I may have to do a deeper clean before I send it back. But so far it sounds really good!!!
- Edited 3 days agoStunning pressing. The first time I heard the Rhino Hi-Fi's I did think a few were a bit bright and just sounded too different. However the sound works on this record. I love how it sounds on my mid-fi system. Deal with it. Mine was perfectly pressed. Dead quiet. No issues. Is it the "definitive copy"? I have no idea. Is it worth the price vs some over-graded copy on eBay? HELL YES! Since I have a perfect US OG Artisan pressing of the self titled, I didn't bother jumping on the FOMO bandwagon when that came out last year but I need to go back and get it. This pressing of Paranoid has really sold me. Hopefully they do Masters of Reality and Vol 4.
- This record sounds fantastic. My history with these songs is FM radio (WNEW in the 80s), cassettes, CDs, and Vinyl from the greatest hits album. This Rhino pressing is the best I ever heard it sound!
- This collection of radioactive owl pellets sounds better than most pressings I've yet
heard, and I have heard quite a few. System: Hana/Rega/Heed/Parasound/ProAc. - I have this one and my brother also has this same pressing. It sounds really muffled and lacking in bass compared to this other one I have https://www.discogs.com/release/12024457-Black-Sabbath-Paranoid

Eines der besten Alben die ich kenne. Musik vom Feinsten, gute Pressung. - Edited 23 days agoGorgeous reissue! After collecting all the 2016 Black Sabbath reissues and a number of CDs, I always felt their albums were somewhat poorly recorded. But Rhino and Kevin Gray have shown with the Rhino Hi-Fi series that, at least for the first two albums, the recordings were much better than I thought.
This reissue brings out incredible detail, huge improvements in imaging, vocal and instrumental texture, and instrument decay. I see a few complaints about the bass, but I think that's completely off-base. I can't imagine this album having more bass and still sounding good. Both the amount and quality of the bass are spot-on.
Although I’ve always loved this album, this pressing makes me appreciate the composition and musicianship even more. That’s the power of a great reissue. Other technical aspects like soundstage and depth are also excellent, though I think the real improvement lies in the clarity and imaging.
