Shadowfax – Shadowdance

Possibly the most tranquil and meditational album in existence. Very minimal and harmonic.

The title track, Shadowdance, is the star player on the album. Almost eastern in sound, one could easily imagine firebreathers spraying flame and shadows across the street, vendors hawking food. A stunning minimalist masterpiece.

This is an incredible sounding pressing and one well worth owning. I paid $4 for my mint copy, but I would have happily paid $30 and well worth it too. Supreme album. 10/10.

A much better outing then their previous, self titled Shadowfax, thats for sure. Very Oregon-esque in its composition and while it doesn't blow me away like that band or some of the other unique fusion/folk albums of this periods, its definitely a cherished album in my collection just for how colorful it is.

Nice album a mic of jazz fusion, ethnic inspired instrumentation all done tastefully and meticulously recorded compliments of Windham Hills high standards. As a side-note Song For My Brother is a melancholic heart drenched composition that was originally found on their 1975 debut Watercourse Way the original having the prog rock edge brimming with mellotron!
I wish Chuck was still around and the band had continued their sound was unique hands down.
