Wouldn't this make a nice 3LP 20th anniversary reissue? Hint hint DMC Back To Mine ...referencing Back To Mine (2×CD, Compilation, Mixed) BACKCD20
To me, the influence of these songs can be heard through their music. From the euro-disco vibes and synths wailing in Chris Lowe's set through to the mesmerising chill and classical set from Neil Tennant, I am locked in my seat and listening intently. Thanks to this CD series (although I wish it could be released on vinyl), it is truly a privilege to be able to hear what these people play at home. It makes me feel like I have been invited by Neil and Chris to a very personal affair of them sharing music deep and dear to them........with me.referencing Back To Mine (2×CD, Compilation, Mixed) BACKCD20
Hard Pass. Both discs are nothing special. Not the 80s songs from Lowe, and certainly not the ambient / classical from Tennant. If you have problems getting sleep, then try the Tennant disc. That´s all. Even the Dusty Springfield songs are totally forgettable and nothing special from her vast and high-quality repertoire. This was a total disappointment coming from the real Pet Shop Boys.referencing Back To Mine (2×CD, Compilation, Mixed) BACKCD20

This is one of the best compilations I heard in the past years.
Chris Lowe takes it on a tasteful retrospect compiling early 80's electro, italo disco, rock and gospel. Ideal for cruising in that old Porsche 928 or Volvo 480 of yours.
Neil Tennant decided to create a sequence of music for late night listening. Electronic, ambient, french chanson, classical and pop music are blended into something sofisticated and very subtle. This is like drinking a bottle of real exquisite wine in excellent company. This is class without any like and my personal favourite of both cd's. One to treasure and the perfect soundtrack for that handful of special moments that will mark your life within the following decades.
Both gentlemen express their regards to Dusty Springfield by including one track of her each. This is really nice and kinda cool, even for non-Dusty fans.
