- Flat and pretty quiet, only digital to compare but does sound good to me given the recording quality. I would say it sounds thin rather than bright, meaning the highs sound ok but there is just not enough low mid and bass. Could be the original recording or they only have a thin digital copy of the tape. Such a great album though, turn it up a bit and you don’t care. Underrated classic of the 80s.
- I don't have anything to compare this pressing to, so here are my thoughts based on that fact. The vinyl is quiet with little to no noise and my copy is perfectly flat. The red color is nice but not a big deal to me. The music is great and you likely know that if you are reading this. For sound, it is a bit bright to my ears with all settings at noon, but nothing adjusting the levels didn't improve. The instruments sound pretty well balanced, with drums a little to the back and the guitar and bass more up front. The horns are always a nice touch when they come in, and seem well-balanced and not overpowering. The vocals vary depending on the song. Sometimes up front and other times sounding kind of distant, which could be intentional for a certain sound.
So, again, with no other reference, this sounds really good to me. I will be listening to this a lot and personally would recommend it. - Was hesitant to buy this based on the reviews but picked one up anyway...visually the vinyl has a few blemishes that I thought would be an issue on playback but for the most part it sounded okay to my ears. If you're on the fence I'd say keep your fingers crossed and take the plunge...great LP obviously ;)
- BAD PRESSING. A LOT OF PAPER SCUFF. A LOT OF NOISE. I TRY IT WITH TWO COPIES.
IT´S A SHAME WITH AMAZING RECORD.
