Reviews
- Edited 12 days agoWistful, soulful debut single from Röyksopp. Essentially, a trip hop remix of chanson Swedes Gals And Pals' 1966 cover of Bacharach And David's "Blue On Blue", from where it takes both the plucked strings and haunting vocal: "Blue on blue, heartbreak on heartbreak, now that we are through". More trip hop than big beat because of its downbeat tone, but its beefy drums, quirky electronics and turntablism samples were very much in sync with the big breaks movement of the time. (7)
