Reviews
- A considerable amount of copies were sent to the UK for distribution before the release was withdrawn. These eventually ended up with companies that buy up unsold/return stock from wholesalers etc. There's no evidence at this stage that counterfeits are in circulation. I bought my own copies and some for resale.

https://www.discogs.com/release/2024082-Embryo-Opal- Edited 2 years agoNo frills reissue, in a digipack case. No Liner notes to give further insight. The sound is good, not over compressed, the main draw here (besides the music that has been out of print for 30 years) are the bonus tracks, which is a nice addition they are mastered well and do not sound out of place or display any loss of audio quality to the original tracks. As noted this was withdrawn, some escaped into the marketplace, who knows how many there are... this is essential listening, if you see one priced reasonably you should do yourself a favor and get it.
- Copies for sale are counterfeits. Originals were recalled and destroyed, too many have surfaced for sale. Don't waste your money.
- lucky enough to have a copy of both of the versions for a side by side. My German copy was slightly lower grade (VG+), but to my ears the US press (NM-) has a fuller sound with more depth. German press is still an excellent listen for sure. The album itself is amazing and hopefully it is pressed again someday.

It's not excessive and I actually think it's an improvement on the original CD which was mastered low with a peak of only -3 dB on the first track. It's not brickwalled. Comparing the original CD master of track 12, the improvement is dramatic but again not excessive, The original had a peak of -9 dB and the new master peaks at -2.4 dB. I believe David and Kendra were working on reissuing it at the time of his sad passing, so it seems that they had a hand in the tasteful remastering of this comp.
