Spiritualized+* – Songs In A&E

This pressing sounds good to my ears, also the wax is fairly silent between songs even if it is on white vinyl. No need to do a clean. Happy not seeking out an original.

So much surface noise! I've used a Ultrasonic and a VPI machine to clean this record and I can't bring it to life. So much pop and crackle throughout especially on side A/B. Side C/D is much better for some odd reason. But for my turntables the noise overpowered the quiet parts, and there is a bunch of quiet parts on this album. This was true for both the US Black and White vinyl pressings that I own. I've read up that the UK pressings are better pressings.

Hello..is it me...or this record sounds incredibly louder?
I had to turn the volume down 3 times from the beginning of listening....and ended up with the volume at half the usual...
In any case..a wonderful album... :)

Sounds great throughout, solid copy. Outshined the other pressing I listened to.

There are indeed some surface noises, not uncommon for US pressings. However, music overpowers the noises for the most part. The mastering is kind of bright though, sounds like a CD.

Any opinion about sound quality and ? press quality? thanks

fantastic record, packaging and design is super cool. Beautiful songs on this one as is with every other Spiritualized album.

I just bought this -- factory sealed -- and it has CRAZY amounts of surface noise. Anybody else experience this with this pressing?

I seem to have a 2008 original black 2 X LP pressing. but made in USA, which does not correspond to anything listed here (they all seem to be EU variants), but has the same UPC. Anyone with a similar copy?
