Lassigue Bendthaus – Matter

My record is a really good copy with great sound, very silent, no cracks.

Uwe Schmidt is basically the Dumbledore of programming and sequencing, as good as (if not better than) Richard D James of Aphex Twin. The meticulous detail of the synths, drums, and effects on Matter was so far ahead of the trash that EBM counterparts like Frontline Assembly were throwing out in 1991 that it's not even funny.

This re-release from Dark Entries captures that production talent in timeless wax. The remastering job is perfect; noticeably richer and deeper than my old CD. The vinyl itself is pristine; zero surface noise, and not even a hint of crackle. The stereo field is wide and appreciable. And the artwork is an elegant refresh from the original's boring postcard on a green field. Compliments to Dark Entries for knocking it out of the park on all levels.

If you have any interest in early 90s genre-establishing EBM, this is right up there with Front 242.

Unbelievabe that this album is now out since 26 years! It's so fresh! I know this album from the early 90s on, I once had the vinyl version with a press sheet ... I most have sold it as I got the CD. And now looking at the listed equipment that was used, my jaw drops! Uwe Schmidt proves his musical genius right away from the start, with this outstanding album! And this double album has all (?) relating mixes, versions, edits and bonus tracks with it!

One of the best electro-industrial albums. A classic that belongs in the collection of every fan of the genre.

All versions/mixes on this cassette are different from the tracks on Matter reissue LP on Dark Entries.
