Elton John – The Complete Thom Bell Sessions

Love the quality if this one and the color is lovely!

Disappointed with the SQ, here, having heard 1/2 of this on the readily available 12", from back in the days... They were great sessions. I can't understand why/ how these people today just completely fail on the dynamics front. Don't they know what good records are meant to sound like?

Is anybody aware of a version that was released with a circular golden sticker that simply sates Limited Edition Color Vinyl instead of the large Blue sticker as indicated here on the website under More Images? The vinyl is also lavender and the ID numbers, etc. correspond? Curious.

The vinyl is pretty, heavy and quiet but the dynamics are missing as is the sound stage which is a pity as I was looking forward to this pressing.

Oh my Lord what did they do to this. After hearing this remix with the added voices to give it more of a soulful sound I was forced to purchase the original. I hate this remix with the Spinners

I had to grab this. I have the 1989 CD, and it was released in US/Canada on vinyl back then too but is expensive now. The sound is excellent and the lilac very cool.
I also have the 2003 pink 12” in the artwork clear sleeve. It has the 1979 full length version of Are You Ready For Love with Ashley Beedle Mono Re-Edit on the B-Side.
I’ve the standard 12” too and two more 12” remixes. The Serge Santiago Re-Edit being very good too as the rest are electronic remixes. They’re all 1/2 Speed masters cut by Showell at Abbey Road.

Very good, quiet pressing and beautiful color. Loved this record.

Purchased due to price point and having EJ songs the wife and I weren’t familiar with. Had no expectations of quality. However, we’re both very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this pressing. Completely silent record, excellent soundstage, great dimension to the sound, dead flat and accurate. If only some of my favorite jazz albums were pressed this nicely! As cheap as they are, this is a serious bargain for any fan of Elton or the Philadelphia sound. Highly recommended.

The 2022 is a duet with The Spinners, the 2016 version is Elton singing alone with The Spinners on backing vocals.

I admire Gavin Lurssen work, so I was very pleasantly surprised to read his name on the credits for this EP.
The lavander vinyl is flat, centered and quiet.
The music is fenomenal - I mean, Elton John supported by the M.F.S.B. and the Spinners? Gimme Gimme Gimme!
