- Edited 18 years agoLive at the BBQ was the track that 1st broke Nas onto the scene,gained him much attention before his classic Illmatic LP in 94 .He was just sixteen when he recorded this verse and still is one of rawest lyrics he has spat to date !

Legend has it that Grimm Reaper (MF Grimm) was supposed to be on "Live At The Barbeque" but while him and Fatal were driving to the studio someone crashed into their car. The story goes that they were both arrested for assaulting the other driver, and while Fatal was let out in time to get to the session, Grimm was still on lock down while Nas was snuffin' Jesus, and that's all...
