Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark – Junk Culture

This version does not have the full 12“ version of Talking Loud and Clear. On this “Deluxe Edition”, the time of it is edited down to 6:11. The original 12” was 8:56. You can get the full 12” 8:56 version on the Blank & Jones SO80S (So Eighties) OMD compilation and it is from master tapes. Be aware of this!

Picked this up about a month ago 50% previous year RSD sale. My first “OMD” record, picked it on a whim!
Well……..impressed what. Just cannot fault this album in anyway. Moved to my living room select play LP collection i like it that much…fits well in any eclectic playlist.

OMD in their best Pop period 1984-1986. Here are some of their best single B-sides and the excellent 12" versions of their hits from that year. The tracks previously unreleased on vinyl, which are not fillers but could also have found their place on "Junk Culture".
Now please add such compilations of "Crush" and "Pacific Age" to the following RSDs.

Hopefully B1 Wrappup is the correct track and the mistake from the original deluxe issue of Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Junk Culture is not reproduced. I wonder if B4 is the same as it was on the CD release or the original longer mix? "2-8 is the second part of the original full 12" version, the one that includes a dub version as a separate intro." How come "Waiting For The Man" - Live is not on this?

If, like me, you can't get enough of OMD in their prime, this is essential. Thanks to Miles and his Abbey Road team for another great OMD pressing. I can't even fault GZ's work :)

Listened to the first 5 tracks thinking that although this is not on par with their early works, I was listening to a decently quirky mid 80s synthpop album, and then I heard the other side - all either forgettable or horrible, with the exception of Talking Loud and Clear.

I suppose I should give it another try later on, but I really don't want to hear All Wrapped Up again.
