Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark – Organisation

Dead silent vinyl, excellent mastering and a great copy to buy!

I bought this record when it was released. I thought it was something special. But life took a turn and my big collection was sold due to my idiotic new discovery. Heroin. But for 2 years a started to buy the records I been missing. And when I came across one of them I reacted on the grey sleeve. I thought it would be something extra, but 70 kronor (approximately £6) I didn’t know what to think. Now I know. I didn’t only got one of my records in my “Wanted list” but also to a decent price. How many hundred times have I listened to all the songs. It was an unusual surprise for sure!

It's interesting to note that this reissue replicates the exact same labels as well which have all the track timings wrong by a good few seconds (or more in some cases). The correct timings can be seen on the original German pressings back in the day (to cite one example).
Another observation is that Organisation appears to be the only OMD vinyl album release of the 1980s and 1990s which does not have a card (or printed) inner sleeve (not counting later grey sleeve pressings of OMITD which replicate the back sleeve design of this album of course).

Is there an Irish pressing? My copy has white labels.

If you tortured your original old pressing from back then like I did and want it in great condition, you should buy it here, great tone and sound on a top pressing that has neither background noise nor a crackle or clicks and is absolutely plan 👍

Without a doubt the best OMD album. In fact one of my favourite albums of all time especoally Stanlow and Statues! Moody, moody, moody!

A question - many years ago, I happened upon the original 1980 UK copy with the 7" free artifact. Sadly, "The Misunderstanding" seems to be having a "skip" at 2.09 mins into the song - which may have occurred due to a pressing fault...

On my copy, in a segment where Andy would continue singing "We're extinguished but...", that part is completely missing from the recording, jumping on to the next line - "we're still alive"; the interesting thing is, the song's rhythm remains quite in sync on that spot, so it might pass unnoticed during casual listens...

I was careful cleaning it up on that spot and made a thorough check - there doesn't seem to be any scratch that would cause this... Anyone else noticed their original UK copy "skipping" in that same place? Thanks.

I’ve had bad luck with this pressing - first copy had some pretty serious non-fill and was rather noisy. Second was better, but the second side got progressively worse, witg Stanlow basically crumbling away to static. Will hold out for a new pressing or try to find used.

I bought this new from Amazon USA and at the time it was advertised as an "Amazon Exclusive" with the extra tracks and re-mastering.
