Notes
Fourth studio album by the band, but also the last by the original line-up of Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley & Lol Creme (for the latter two departed shortly thereafter to form Godley & Creme), until the four reformed (albeit briefly) for the 1992 album 10cc - ...Meanwhile.

- My favourite 10cc album. A band at the peak of their powers, an album full of whip sharp song. What a pity that this incarnation of the band never did anything else.
My copy is old and crackly but still sounds fantastic. Check out how the song “I’m Mandy Fly Me” starts. - Edited 2 years ago

Not as well recorded as The Original Soundtrack, but still an engaging listen. The usual 10cc sound fx (doorbell on Mandy etc) made me go up from my chair and see who’s at the door… instruments, again, well separated. There is a lot going on to take in. Great album cover! - I think this album is top notch and full of beautiful music and exceptional mastering of the board. The UK pressing is definitely where it’s at for this gem.
- This is an excellent sounding pressing. I compared it directly to a UK pressing and they were essentially matched. Very good recording and superb music.
- I have all four of the original line up remastered vinyl pressings and i prefer the 2016 pressing of this album over the 1976 original vinyl. It's more dynamic, more open with greater detail which can be said of all the other releases, the two 180g coloured releases of '10cc' and 'Sheet Music' and the black 180g vinyl edition of 'The Original Soundtrack' They may be digital remasters cut onto vinyl but i think they are all well worth it.
- Edited 2 years agoCheck out the different mix of 'How Dare You!' (first track side one) Totally different from the original 1976 vinyl release, well worth it though. Side B, i have found, can sound a bit sibilant on the original 1976 vinyl release, the 2013 'Music On Vinyl' release and the 2016 pressing do not suffer from that problem also it has a 'Bonus track' on the end of side B 'Get It While You Can' (only on the 2013 'Music On Vinyl' pressing) which is identical to the CD remaster 'Bonus Track'
- [Imagine Pink Floyd, with Ringo Starr's Sense of Humor, and No Discipline or Any Plan]
The album is full of fleeting bursts of great music, and some honestly beautiful passages. But it is so littered with silliness, aimlessness, hamfisted attempts to be "wacky", and old-timey musical tropes that belong on a bad 1970s television variety show, that it just becomes pointless.
I listened to this full album on the strength of the song, "I'm Not in Love". I thought, "I've never just listened to a 10cc album. Let's try it." I'm definitely not in love. - This is a superb 180gram vinyl pressing. After a wet clean, as I now do for all my new vinyl purchases before a first play, I can do form this edition sounds really beautiful.
Very quiet, dynamic and well remastered. The barefoot and inner sleeve are well made and even better quality than used to remember my original UK pressing bought way back in 1976. Goodness me was it really that long ago ?
My own faves on here are I'm Mandy, Fly Me , Art For Art's Sake and that very odd song I Wanna Rule the World. You can tell there is tension in the air here with Consequences hovering away in the background. Quite why they couldn't find a mutually agreeable way out I just don't know. Because we didn't get two great bands after the split did we ? We got two mediocre bands, ok Deceptive Bends was fine but after that, maybe no !
Oh well, enjoy this nearly Prog rock classic and try to recommend it and the classic line up to your discerning vinyl friends. It's time this record was re-elected appraised upwards, right ? - Criminally overlooked! The first 5 lps from 10cc are excellent and must haves for any collection. If you love The Beach Boys, the sparks, queen and the raspberries then you will certainly LOVE 10cc
