I think this is the 2020 release? How do we ask for a vote?

I compared this to my 1990 German and MOV pressings. Over the years, I’ve always perceived the MOV as the better between the two, but I held onto both. In this three-way comparison, I was (surprisingly) least impressed by the MOV. It conveyed the atmosphere of the album, but it did not have the fullness and raspy vocal of the original.

This 2024 version sounded like a good, modern remaster. It had better instrument separation, better defined and slightly deeper bass and I suspect will play louder without hiccups. But it didn’t quite match the visceral impact of the original.

I love the album so will probably hang onto all three, but this pressing and the original are my winners. If this is your only copy of the album, you won’t be disappointed.

I binned this green vinyl reissue - very low in volume and dynamics. Honestly, I found it unlistenable, though the pressing was clean.

My copy came with a slight warp on LP1, but it sounds great.

After reading the positive reviews I bought a copy, and boy was I disappointed. I don't have an original pressing, only the cd, but this one doesn't sound good to my ears at all. There's lots of distortion, right from the beginning of each side, that gets imposdible to bear by the end of the sides. Probably due to the fact thst it's on coloured vinyl, I don't know why labels still release coloured records when they know damn well the sound quality suffers , especially when they're so expensive. I'll put it away and never listen to it again, the cd will do it for me.

Bought it after reading the reviews on discogs. I also have the original version (a Czech version from Globus international). Anyhow, the reissue version sounds good and a great pressing. No surface noise at all!

But if you have the original version from the 90’s make sure to hang on to it. The original version sounds slightly better. Anyway, the reissue sounds very good and it’s very nice to have the singles included!

Many albums claim to be Gothic, but many are not. This one is the real deal. Dark, distant, cold, with a creepy factor.

I compared this version against my other 4 copies I own: UK 1990, Germany 1990, MOV 2011 and 30th anniversary 2020. The MOV release remains my favorite. It sounds better than the originals but keeps the original atmosphere. The latest release adds some transparency and clarity to the high range but the overall sound quality slightly differs from track to track. The MOV version offers a more consistent overall sound. There’s nothing wrong in buying the latest version but I guess I’ll keep on spinning the MOV version as I only have to flip sides once during playback.

This definitely sounds better than my original copy from the 90s. Also, the pressing quality is excellent: no pops or clicks or surface noise. This pressing is definitely worth buying.
