The song "Everything Begins With An E" is very similar to the song "48 Hours" by Vengaboys, who were Danski & DJ Delmundo, who also produced this song.

A pretty cool album with a great cover and title to boot. This is worth having for the few good and couple great tracks. When it first came out a lot of music sounded the same and the "Better Off Alone" song was being heard everywhere. But I can still listen to that song and enjoy it. Probably one of my all time favortite dance songs. I'd rate this a 3 outta 5 and heck she's even extremely easy on the eyes so there you have it.

Listening to this album certainly wakes a lot of memories. I was 15 years old when I bought this; most of the music containing a bassdrum and some catchy synthlines I thought was worth to call trance. Fortunately, I've grown up since then and found out this album is a simple way for estabilished trance producers like Svenson & Gielen to make some fast extra money; there is no magic in the music except from the good memories it wakes. If you are looking for great CDs to buy, buy another one, this isn't worth paying for.

"Who Needs Guitars Anyway?" wouldn't receive half the bashing heaped on it by the pundits, if people took a moment to realize that this album does not pretend to be a mind-expanding life-changing trance experience. What it is, is solidly manufactured trance flavored synthpop candy designed to promote feel-good vibes, and it excells at the task with three superb dancefloor numbers (1, 2 and 4) kicking off the set. Of course, it would have been hard to mantain throughout the whole album the frenetic pace set by the breathtaking free fall of "The Lonely One", and things fade a little from that point on, with the second half of the album more suited for background listening. Still, elevator music this is not, and I can whole-heartedly recommend this album to anyone who prefers good times to counting calories.

The title of this album says it all. Uninspired, unintelligent and largely intollerable; perhaps a better title would've been 'Who needs talent anyway?', especially when tracks like 'Better Off Alone' are all you need to make it big.

It's studio janitor talent like this that gives electronic music a bad name.

This version of the CD is the Australian one, and I chose this version because it had the "Back In My Life" video. The tracks in here are almost all eurodance, but "Fairytales" is kind of a slow track, and "Everything Begins With An E" is a melodic trance track. This CD is recommended if you like Sylver, Foggy, Noémi, or Marc et Claude. Basically, vocal trance with a eurodance flavor. If you want the video, this CD's the right one, but if you don't care for it, stick with the normal release. I had to pay a load for this import CD. The order of the tracks seems kind of random, because the pace is pretty erratic. However, overall, a very good album, although some people might get bored of it really quickly.
