Sounds exquisite. Much better than the original CD press. Fat, articulate bass, huge dynamics, musical mids and gentle highs. Warm and engaging. Very happy with this one.

This is not actually a Stereolab record. Apparently, some very clever people with studio time on their hands decided to craft the ultimate Stereolab parody record, right down to the Earth shoe brown and burnt orange graphic cover... upon hearing it, and being fans of détournement, Stereolab thought it would be a great Situationist joke to release it through their major label, thus saving themselves the production costs. Although it's never been proven, former members of the Alan Parsons Project and Pablo Cruise may have had a hand in it. Perfect art object to file between your vinyl copy of Mort Garson's "Mother Earth's Plantasia" and Keith Sanborn's translation of "The Society of the Spectacle" on VCR tape. RATING: Six thumbs up! You must have this on the original UK vinyl for the ultimate aesthetic experience.

Don't freak out when you see CD1 only has 11 tracks, Warp/DHF neglected to mention that the album's last 4 songs are the first 4 songs on CD2...

...which reminds me of my gripes with this reissue campaign. Great sound, packaging, liners etc but would it have killed them to keep the original tracklist on CD1 and put the vinyl version of Blue Milk (along with all contemporary bsides) on CD2? There was enough space for it...

does this press have the full version of blue milk?

An absurdly overlooked album in the incredible Stereolab discography. It’s a long, kaleidoscopic journey of electronics and jazz, and Pitchfork giving this a 3.4 on release certainly didn’t help individuals who were already thrown off by the premise of the album. However, I feel that this is actually one of the crowning jewels of Stereolabs music and it shocks me how Dots and Loops can be put on a pedestal while this masterpiece is thrown to the curb. Everything about this album just works for me and it feels like a natural progression of their sound. “Overindulgent” is a horrible argument for a band pushing the boundaries of what their music can be. Utterly spellbinding, this record is an amazing experiment for Stereolab and this original pressing is everything you can hope for.

This is a long winded album that still fascinates me. It’s far from easy listening!

The base album is wonderful, but this is packaged with so much interesting supplementary material that it could serve as a key part of any Stereolab collection.

Probably one of the worst sounding sets of vinyl in my collection unfortunately. Sounds like I got a dud, but there's a lot of sibilance on the vocals, and tracks like Blue Milk sound dull and flat compared to the digital. Damn.

Is there any indication of a number, of the 7000 printed on these? Pretty sure this is the copy I have (2x12" gatefold, got it right around release)?
