Twilight is definitely a beauty - deep, warm, emotional and still sounds great. It reminds me slightly of Emotions Electric by A Guy Called Gerald (minus the vocal obviously).

I loved the raw club / rave energy of In From the Night when I was younger, madder and out raving most weekends but nowadays I tend to opt for Twilight when I pull this record out at home.

Adam Beyer plays a new version of Twilight in his current sets not sure who made the remix though - might be a new drumcode release soon?

Twilight is quite simply breathtaking. The breakdown section is tear inducing greatness. I was not lucky enough to hear it out back in the day but it would have been one of those most treasured memories for sure. I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, Luke Slater is a genius.

In From The Night and Millsart "Step to Enchantment" sound almost identical.

When released this came in a matching colour sleeve to the outer centre label, purple, I haven't seen many of those, as these trax were like rocking horse shit, (everyone wanted it), including Luke's own shop "JellyJam"(!!) The majority were released in plain black sleeves. The 12" release's that sum up the end of 1993 are this and Axis 4 "Step to Enchantment", you have to own these in your techno collection, period.

This is a solid 4 tracker, make no mistake! Nothing weak about this release whatsoever ... one of my favourite Slater 12's along with The Astral Adventures Of RK1 ... wicked UK techno from the good ol' days ... get ya chugg on with tracks like Gated ... just the sought of sounds you would hear booming up the stairway as you made your way thru a certain small cloths shop on Monmouth St. and down into the cosy confines of Fat Cat on a Saturday afternoon ... I would spend an hour or two here picking up all sorts from Disintegrator tracks on Industrial Strength to Edge Of Motion on Djax and Maurizio on M amongst hundreds more ... but I digress ...

Twilight is a nice twittery track that oozes warmth and is somewhat comforting after the dose served by the the previous 3 cuts. Listening to Cutting Roland is a bit like driving thru fog ... the sounds get thicker and you begin to loose yourself as things get more distorted ... I would defo wanna be pumping smoke into the place as I played this track :D In From The Night is the bad boy stomper here ... sitting very nicely alongside the dark UR tracks of the time with sounds that pierce the night like the beam from a lighthouse in a storm ...

I disagree with the previous users comment. This is my favourite of all the Planetary Assault System releases and is easily one of the most dancefloor friendly E.P's Luke has ever done. Gated and In From The Night are stompers of the highest degree but the real highlight of this record is Twilight with its whistling like melody and lushious strings. Im not sure what Mr Slater is doing now but i wish he would make more tunes like this.

The weakest Planetary Funk, probably. The one with the most sub-par tracks of the lot, at least: three out of four are dodgy pieces, obviously made by a Slater who did not fully master his machines yet, pieces that did not stand the test of time.
But In From The Night!... Rolling tanks and marching troops from a hostile world, firing laser guns in all directions, causing wreak and havoc on dancefloors the world over. It has not aged.

This record is almost worn out with wear- track for track one of the DJ friendliest records I own. Gated is a bona fide acid classic, Cutting Roland is a mad one that has a similar energy Rubycon's Muffler Man or Mills' Steps To Enchantment, and Twilight is a really nice melodic track. Favorite of the Planetary Funk series.
